How PMBOK® Guide7th edition rollout will impact the test-takers?

Firstly, the PMP® Exam WILL NOT CHANGE in January 2022 with the release of PMBOK® Guide–Seventh Edition, according to PMI. The PMP® exam will continue to be based on the current Exam Content Outline (ECO) which can be downloaded from PMI website.

Simply put, even though PMI issued the 7th edition, making it the most recent edition of a reference book, and advised to properly grasp it prior to the test, the PMBOK® Guide 6th edition continues to be the primary resource for obtaining PMP credentials or passing the certification.

The Certification of Project Management Professionals (PMP)® test will remain in its present format, which went into effect on January 2, 2021. The PMP community does not believe that the present test pattern will continue in 2022, as was previously indicated.

• The PMP examination duration is for 230 minutes
• There are now two 10-minute breaks in the exam (mandatory)
  • Break 1 - appears after completing questions 1- 60 and reviewing all your answers.
  • Break 2 - appears after completing question 120 and reviewing all your answers
• The PMP examination is comprised of 180 questions.
  • Scored questions – 175
  • Pretest questions - 5 are considered
• Pretest questions do not affect the score.
• 50% of the questions in the new PMP exam concentrates on agile and hybrid methodologies.
